This is the blog for the After-School Zone. We created this to give people a forum to talk about games, and to stay in contact with people even if you're not at the Library playing games.
Phillip works part-time at the Library and goes to college full-time.
Allison works at the Library full-time.
Phillip's favorite games are: the Tekken series, the NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy, the Metroid series, the Metal Gear series and anything Atari Jaguar-related. He generally likes RPGs, shooters, action-platform, and fighting games. Phillip wouldn't waste his money on an average game if he could buy an outstanding one.
Allison's favorite games are RPGs, rhythm games, or sims. So she likes the Sims, Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and a bunch of RPGs. She doesn't mind average - or even lame - games as much as Phillip does.
Today we tried out Red Steel 2 for the first time. This title is one of the most anticipated Wii releases of 2010. The usual suspects tested out the game, but Angelo enjoyed playing it the most. In fact, he called it, "the best Wii game I have ever played." Surprising, considering it's hard to find a game that will attract his attention for more than 5 seconds. It'll be there on Thursday, in addition to Tatsunoko.
Oh, is Burnout four player splitscreen? If it is, that sounds great. I've been looking for a 4-player racing game for a while that isn't Mario Kart. Two players isn't bad, but I was also thinking of games like Sonic Riders and Starfox Assault for the GameCube.
Burnout is only two players. Sonic riders is awesome for gamecube and wii. I never tried starfox assult. How about some super monkey ball or some dance dance revolution for ps2 or wii?
About TvC, sure, I'll see if I can teach you anything useful.
About the tourney, I think we could do that but I also think we should get the input of more players. Plus, it'd be too soon to change it now without giving the other players notice. So, tourney still tomorrow and we'll look into changing the date for the next one.
Well, all the people come on Tuesday and expect Brawl Tournaments. Why don't we have Brawl on Tuesdays and then have TvC on Wednesdays? It would work out for all of us and maybe we can have a Mario Kart tournament, or something of that nature on Thursdays.
What do you think of that Phil? I think that would be better for the majority.
But shouldn't someone put up a thread about specific games so no one really has to be like that game sucks let's talk bout something else. Just a suggestion and can we try some more one player rpgs or other games like FFXIII or Banjo-Kazooie.
Um... ok. I wanted to ask people which game should I get, my Tatsunoko vs Capcom is lost so I'm considering getting a new one or should I get Redsteel 2?
Morris- I think you should get a game that interests you. Red Steel 2 is really good, and is short enough that you'd probably be able to finish it before losing interest. Monster Hunter Tri is very involved; I've heard of people spending hundreds of hours playing. But if you like online coop, and a challenge, you may enjoy this one. On Xbox, Bayonetta is one of the best beat'em up action games that has been released this year. Or you could wait and stick with Mass Effect 2 and other games you haven't finished. There lots of other AAA titles coming out in the next few months.
What do you think Moris might be interested in Kevin?
P.S., still liking FFXIII? Where's your review? Guys feel free to create your own content (like reviews, first impressions and stuff). I know I'd like to see some of the stuff you've been playing and I bet others would too.
Can we do a team tourney brawl? Please reply it's reasonable we can all pick a partner who suits our style or you can randomly pick our partner and at the end the two best pairs fight each other and after that the winners fight each other and the winner of that wins the whole thing.
Phil I realize that this is a lot to ask but can you give me some help on these characters: (just like basic information I went to Smash Wiki and have a lot I just need a little more) Marth Captain Falcon Toon Link Luigi Wolf Sheik Pikachu Olimar Mr Game and Watch Donkey Kong Falco
I can't answer that question Morris. You should ask the people that say that. I think Marth is your best because you have the most experience with him. Ask other people too.
Actually, I'm not so confident this game will be popular because it's incredibly hard. Makes sense since its creators, Treasure, are known for challenging games.
Anyone hear about Street Fighter X Tekken? It's new games starring Street Fighter(SF) and Tekken characters in the same titles! Notice how I said games, plural. Capcom will make one first with a system leaning toward SF and then Namco will make one with Tekken-esque gameplay.
In other news, the library just received an additional two PS2 systems. So that means we now have 4 in total. Any ideas on what to do with these?
how about a racing game for the gamecube like burnout it's awesome

ReplyDeleteHey Phil this is just a question. If we play tatsunoko vs capcom can you teach me how to play Ken The Eagle?
ReplyDeleteCan you move the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tourney to Thursday and switch Tatsunoko to Tuesday?
ReplyDeleteThat's fine with me.
ReplyDeleteSo tatsunoko vs capcom is now Tuesday's tournament and brawl Thursday?
ReplyDeleteAbout TvC, sure, I'll see if I can teach you anything useful.

You know what we should have on Thursdays? If someone can either bring in a PS3 or an XBOX 360, we should have Tekken 6 tournaments on Thursdays.
ReplyDeleteFinal Fantasy thread needed. I love 13. It's my favorite game right now.

ReplyDeleteYou have the whole thread to yourself Morris. Post anything you like.
ReplyDeleteI uploaded two new videos on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteUm... ok. I wanted to ask people which game should I get, my Tatsunoko vs Capcom is lost so I'm considering getting a new one or should I get Redsteel 2?
ReplyDeleteYeah we should do the Tekken 6 thing or maybe change it up a little bit with something not fighting.
ReplyDeleteHey Phil what happened to team tournament in brawl?

Why do some people say my best character is Toon Link, some say it's Wolf and others say it's Marth?
ReplyDeleteAnyone can answer. Just please answer me.

Fast moving objects and bright flash warning. Maybe turning down the brightness will help a bit.
